Sauce Boats were first introduced to England in the reign of King George I and originally double lipped. By 1725 the single lip style was common on a single collet foot and by 1740 most were on 3 feet. These were used for cold sauces but now the larger sauce boats are frequently used for gravy.
We have a large stock of sauceboats from Antique to Contemporary design and various sizes and prices to suit all pockets. Not all are illustrated on our website, so if you don't see what you are looking for, please contact us.
